Interview about being adopted – Questions

Because my final major project will be a music video with the meaning behind the lyrics being adoption, I decided it would be beneficial to before-hand interview Lewis himself about adoption to get a better understanding of the topic which my project will be about. I came up with a few questions about his experience and adoption in general to ask him.

  1. How old were you when you were adopted?
  2. Did knowing you were adopted effect you growing up as a child?
  3. Was there a certain point where you realised that you didn’t fit into your surroundings or did you always feel like that?
  4. Did you feel different to other children (knowing you were adopted) growing up?
  5. How would you say being adopted can effect children?
  6. Have you ever tried/wanted to connect with your birth parents?
  7. If you could talk to them now what would you say?
  8. Is having another adopted sibling more reassuring?
  9. Do you think your experiences/feelings have been worse or different to hers and how?
  10. Why did you want to mix your story with music and what made you do it?

I feel like these questions will help me relate more to the topic since it is my final major project and I will also be able to understand the singer more, making it easier to make a mutual understanding with the music video.

I also thought that by asking questions such as 4 and 5, about his views on other peoples experiences, it makes it more of a generalised thing about adoption overall.
