First Scene
For my music video I will be needing a narrative which I want to match the lyrics. On Thursday which will be my first filming day I will be filming the scene with Lewis just in his house. He will be sat down singing the lyrics to his song and there will be cutaways of the room that he is in. This scene will also be the one where we see pictures of Lewis as a child so there will be cutaways of that too. I was also thinking of including a shot of a picture of him and his sister when they were younger and then have the next shot of them at that moment, to show change and growth. This would also be beneficial as the song is about adoption and his sister is adopted too. The inspiration for this scene would be the music video ‘Labrinth – Jealous’ as the emotions in that video are the same that will be being portrayed in my music video.
Second Scene
If I have time, I will then film the second scene which is the nighttime fire scene, however if there isn’t then I will film it on the Friday. For this scene I wanted to film Lewis with some of his friends next to a fire. I want to do various shots of peoples silhouettes and film them around the fire. There will be various close ups of the fire and of lewis face.
For this scene I wanted the emotions to be really aggressive but passionate as it will be the scene that will take up the majority of the ending. I wanted the fire to be symbolism of Lewis’ mind and emotions and represent how everything is heightened and on fire. I want the ending to be a mix of sadness and happiness, as if he has realised that he is content with his family life. Similar to my music video inspiration for this scene, which is ‘SERYN – The Fire’, I want to do closeups on Louis’ face and physical features like eyes. I will be doing research into safely creating a fire and the safety requirements surrounding it. I also understand that it will have to be a more realistic version when compared to this video as the fire wont be as big and strong.
Third scene
For the third scene it will be the bar scene. I want the vibe for this to be claustrophobic and represent how Lewis’ emotions and feelings are running wild and can be claustrophobic at times. I also like the actual location of the bar which I have agreed to shoot at. The setting is really neon and red and I want this to represent pain and aggression from the song lyrics. This scene will be really inspired by my research on colour theory and how the colour red can effectively tell a story. This scene will take place with Lewis and his family (sister and mother) and they will be sat in a booth together. Lewis will be sat in the middle of his family and will be singing the song whilst his family talking obnoxiously and in a jolly way over him to each other. My inspiration for this scene is the music video ‘James Vincent Mcmorrow – Cavaliar’ along with other neon coloured music videos and films which I researched. I also like the characters mood which he projects in the video.
